Dear Colleagues,
The International Symposium on Administrative Law and Administrative Jurisdiction (ISALAJ), held annually since 2021* and initiated in partnership with Balıkesir University and the Ord. Prof. Dr. Sıddık Sami Onar Research and Application Center for Administrative Law at Istanbul University Faculty of Law, will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and online) from May 12–15, 2026, at Tashkent Renaissance Educational University. The Symposium is organized in collaboration with Tashkent State University of Economics, Tashkent State University of Law, Alfraganus University, the Academy of the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku State University Faculty of Law, the Academy of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, International University Vision, and with the sponsorship of Bigadiç Municipality and Filiz Publishing House.
The theme of ISALAJ-2026 has been set as "Powers and Activities of the Administration in the Field of Economy." Within this theme, submissions covering the following aspects are invited:
- The Economic Dimension of Public Order
- Administrative Activities in the Economic Sphere
- Economic Public Service (Service of General Economic Interest)
- Manifestations of Financial Law and an Interdisciplinary Approach
- The Powers of the Administration and Sanctions in the Economic Sphere
- Regulation and Administrative Authority
- Administrative Law through the Lens of Competition Law
- Country Experiences Acquired in the Economic Sphere
- Financial Support (Subsidization)
- Economic Planning and Forecasting as a Type of Activity

The Symposium welcomes scholars with extensive knowledge in administrative law and administrative jurisdiction, as well as researchers interested in these areas. The main language of the event is Turkish; however, presentations can also be made in English, Russian, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, and Kazakh. The deadline to submit abstracts is December 10, 2025.
The symposium meets the criteria for academic incentives and the requirements of the Interuniversity Council (ÜAK) for associate professorship. As a result, more than half of the papers presented at the symposium must be authored by participants from outside Turkey. All papers undergo peer review. In the event that the number of submissions exceeds the Symposium's capacity, adhering to the principle of impartiality, priority for rejection will be given to authors who have presented papers at multiple previous events, based on a quantitative criterion.
The Faculty of Law at Balıkesir University has designated Dr. Semih Batur KAYA as the academic representative for the symposium.
Participants are responsible for their own accommodation and travel expenses for in-person attendance.
